The last twenty four hours have been a new challenge of fever up- fever down. Currently Linda's fever is down, but she really didn't feel like blogging again today. The Dr.'s are telling us that the fever is expected at this point. Her white blood cell count reached zero today which is on schedule. This will make her very tired for the next week or so while she builds them back up.

It was nice that Jim had a stack of get well cards to open and read to Linda today after lunch. She always enjoys hearing from everyone. All of your comments, cards, letters, emails, and prayers are so very appreciated. Please, keep them coming. We've been decorating her walls with colorful pictures and drawings from the kids and now we'll have a bunch of cards to add. Thank you.

Love and Blessings,
Kimberly

  1. Linda, You are right on track. There were a few days (maybe a week) that I remembered very little due to fevers, etc. Take necessary drugs and let others be your strength. I'm glad you have family there with you. God is good and he always has a plan. Prayers to you. Lori

  2. Dear Linda, I'm so thankful for Kim's updates. I am taking a 3 wk class on Mon nights so I missed the meeting last Monday night and the update Megan gave everyone. I wake up at 4 of a morn and you are the first thing in my thoughts and in the still of the morn, I pray for you. I want to see you so bad but am still battling this cough. I did go to the dr tho--just a residual of the cold I had earlier. I pray for the dr/nurses treating you, for a cure for this dreaded disease, for Jim, and your kids and their families, your donor, and especially for you and your emotional/physical well being. No matter how I word it, I can't express to you how much you mean to me. I can see that I need not think I'm your best friend because you have so many. BUT you are my best friend and will be forever! I love you friend!!
    Love and prayers,
    BFF, Carol

  3. Linda, I spoke with Jimmy for about 5 min--saw the car there as I came from choir practice--and got a quick update. I forgot to tell you this morn that I went up to see Dorothy yesterday morn. Her meal had just come and I tried to get her to sit down and eat it but she wanted to visit. I asked her if she knew who I was and she said "why sure, you're Carol Burris". We talked about some old times and she mentioned about you being in the hospital. I told her that you were where they were going to help you and never went into any detail. I tried to reassure her. She is a dear, dear person and our families go way back.
I mowed grass today while the sun was shining. It felt warm and tranquil to have the sun out and I said another prayer that the "son was shining in your room" helping you to feel better and get through this.
Hope you are able to sleep tonight.
Hang tough dear friend and know that I constantly am thinking of you and praying for you.
    BFF....Carol
